Reports of a Ukrainian military incursion across the Dnipro River into the left bank of Kherson Oblast have yet to be confirmed, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine, Hanna Malyar, said on Aug. 9.
“The armed forces and the General Staff do not confirm this information at this time. We urge everyone to once again trust only official sources,” Malyar said.
“Everything provided by the General Staff and the Defense Ministry is information that ensures the safety of our military operations.”

Earlier, the U.S. think tank, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), released a statement that Ukrainian forces had reportedly conducted a military operation near the village of Kozachi Laheri on the occupied left bank of Kherson Oblast. This move was allegedly made possible by weakened Russian defenses in the area.

ISW analysts referred to reports by “Russian correspondents” on Aug. 8, indicating that Ukrainian forces utilized seven vessels, each carrying around six to seven individuals, to execute the operation on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, close to the settlement of Kozachi Laheri.
Subsequently, Ukrainian military forces purportedly breached the Russian defense lines, advancing approximately 800 meters inland.
“Ukrainian forces appear to have conducted a limited raid across the Dnipro River and landed on the east (left) bank of Kherson Oblast, although it remains unclear whether Ukrainian troops have established an enduring presence on the east bank,” the analysts said.
